Chino PD Seeking Witness to Fatal Traffic Collision
CHINO, CA – The driver of a vehicle involved in a traffic collision has succumbed to her injuries at an area hospital. Investigators are asking for the public assistance with details on the incident.
On Friday, July 1, 2016 at approximately 11:12 a.m. Officers responded to an injury traffic collision in the intersection of Pipeline and Walnut Avenues. The collision involved a tan 2004 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Wanda Horswell, 89 of Pomona, and a black 2013 Nissan Altima driven by Noemi Lopez, 36 of Rialto.
The preliminary investigation indicates the Nissan was traveling northbound on Pipeline Avenue and the Chevrolet was traveling westbound on Walnut Avenue when the two collided. Chino Valley Fire Paramedics arrived on scene and found Horswell non-responsive with serious injuries. She was later transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital where she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.
Lopez was also transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital due to complaint of pain where she was treated and released.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
