Pd Seeking Assistance In Identify Vehicle Theft Suspect
Chino PD is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect who led Officers on a pursuit in an off-road vehicle.
On Monday, July 11, 2016 at approximately 7:49 a.m. a Chino PD Motor Officer attempted to stop a blue Sand Rail, off-road type vehicle, which was reported to be driving recklessly near the intersection of Bickmore and Euclid Avenues.
The driver of the vehicle refused to stop when ordered to do so and fled at high speeds, leading Officers on a car chase for several minutes before the pursuit was cancelled due to safety concerns. The vehicle then became disabled in the 15500 block of El Prado Road, where the driver fled on foot into the Chino Creek Basin. It was later learned that the vehicle was stolen earlier in the city of Norco.
During the investigation, Chino Officers, Chino Hills Deputies and an Ontario PD helicopter searched the area for several hours, but were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult, approximately 25-30 years old. Surveillance camera images of the suspect were obtained and are being released (see attached photo) to the media and public, requesting assistance with locating or identifying him.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Officer Thomas at (909) 334-3103 or email@example.com.
