UPDATED - July 21, 2016 5 p.m.

Laura Johnson, age 68 of Ontario, was reported missing Saturday, July 16, 2016, after she failed to return to her mother’s home in Chino from running errands. She was reported to have been recently suffering from memory loss and disorientation. She had no cellphone or electronic banking, leaving Detectives with little means to track her whereabouts. Additionally, the California Highway Patrol issued a silver alert and a multi agency notification was issued with no leads.

At approximately 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016, Chino PD was notified that Johnson and her vehicle were located in a remote area near the City of Niland. The property was part of a Navy Seal bomb training facility. A range master discovered Johnson, near her vehicle.

The preliminary investigation indicates there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. The autopsy is pending by the Imperial County Coroner’s Office.
