Student Arrested for Threatening Jr. High School

CHINO, CA – A 13-year-old Magnolia Junior High student was arrested Friday, March 2, 2018, after making threats to “shoot up,” the school. 

Shortly after 11:04 a.m. Chino PD officers responded to Magnolia Junior High where students reported the threat. Officers immediately coordinated efforts with Chino Valley Unified School district personnel and took the juvenile into custody for making criminal threats. The juvenile was booked at San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall. 

Detectives are working with school officials to continue the investigation and ensure the safety of the students; there is no immediate threat to Magnolia Junior High School or the public. 

Chief Karen Comstock states, “School safety remains a top priority and we will use all resources necessary to ensure that the parents, students and school faculty are safe on campus. Any individuals found to be the source of threats on Chino school campuses will be held criminally liable to the fullest extent of the law.”
