At approximately 12:38 p.m. March 24, 2018, the Chino Valley Fire Department requested the police department’s assistance with a call, described as a woman found bleeding next to a vehicle parked in the middle of the street near the intersection of Cypress Avenue and Fillmore Street. The victim, later identified as 32-year-old Nicole Batoosingh, suffered multiple stab wounds and was transported to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
According to witnesses, a suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Daniel Batoosingh was seen running into a residence on Cypress Avenue where he and the victim have been residing for the last few months. Officers attempted to contact the suspect, making numerous announcements and calls, without success. At approximately 6:45 p.m. the SWAT team entered the home and discovered the suspect deceased with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Several roads were closed and access to residences in the immediate area was restricted for the duration of the incident.
