"The Healthy Chino Coalition will increase healthy
lifestyle options and the quality of
life for our community."
Healthy Chino is a movement initiated by the City to improve the health of our residents and business community. Made up of the Healthy Chino Coalition, programs, events, and educational marketing campaign, all program efforts are aimed at improving community health through education and awareness. Watch this short video clip to learn more about this popular program.
Healthy Chino focuses on five areas: nutrition, public education, physical fitness, health and human services, and safe and walkable neighborhoods.
Healthy Chino has received both the prestigious Helen Putnam Award and the Cities Counties Schools Partnership Award.
The Healthy Chino Coalition was created in 2004 in response to the dramatic increase in obesity rates amongst children and adults which has been linked to a variety of health concerns including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and strokes to name just a few. The Coalition is made up of community leaders, educators, businesses, medical professionals, churches, service organizations, and dedicated residents who all work together to reverse the dangerous health trends that have effected so many communities across our nation.
