State of the City

2022 State of the City

Mayor's Message

The theme “Chino, Non-Stop!” was selected because it reflects how things have been in Chino since the onset of the pandemic, and 2021 in particular.  Despite the obstacles thrown at us, we not only survived, but we were able to adapt quickly to new circumstances, dive into opportunities that presented themselves, and forge ahead with the important work to be done.  In 2021,

  • Water Treatment project were started
  • Water mains and lines were replaced
  • Storm drains were constructed
  • Sewers were relined and the brine line underway
  • Streets and alleys were repaved
  • Parks and numerous facilities were renovated
  • Technology was upgraded throughout the City -- including security cameras, databases, communications infrastructure and equipment
  • The Housing Element was completed
  • LED streetlights were installed
  • Right-of-way accessibility improvements were made
  • Hundreds of trees were planted
  • Signal modifications were completed
  • Landscapes were improved and so much more!
  • There was no “down time” in Chino!

Despite COVID, we continued to flourish as a City and organization. View the video below for more details on the State of the City.
