Message from Southern California Edison:
As we experience record-breaking heat and minimal nighttime cooling has caused a strain on electrical transmission and distribution equipment. Southern California Edison (SCE) is asking residents in Chino and other cities across Riverside and San Bernardino counties to voluntarily reduce electrical use during high-demand hours from 4 PM to 9 PM, starting today, September 9.
If energy demand isn't reduced, temporary power interruptions could occur. Let’s all do our part to help prevent outages!
Here’s how you can conserve energy:
- Set your air conditioner to 78°F or higher
- Turn off appliances and lights when not in use
- Pre-cool your home before 4 PM
- Charge electric vehicles and devices before 4 PM or after 9 PM
- Run dishwashers, washing machines, and other major appliances outside of peak hours
- Set your pool pump to run in the early morning or late at night.
SCE customers can get the latest information using the outages app at sce.com/outagecenter.
