Bragging rights go to the City of Chino for bringing home the 1st Place Trophy for the 2023 Corporate Challenge. The teams competing in this year’s event, which marks the 32nd Annual Corporate Challenge, were the City of Chino, the City of Chino Hills, Hussmann Corporation, NFI, Allegiance STEAM Academy, Chino Valley Unified School District, and the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The Chino Corporate Challenge is a two-week event that brings together teams from the cities of Chino and Chino Hills for some friendly competition with other public agencies and local businesses in a variety of gaming and sporting competitions such as boat races, golf, volleyball, basketball, relay races, tug-of-war, game night, trivia, and more. The event concludes with teams competing in Casino Night games including blackjack, craps, and roulette. Chino brought the trophy to City Hall after getting it back from last year’s winner, Hussmann Corporation. This marks the fifth time that Chino takes 1st Place, making it the team with the most first-place wins in the 32-year history of the competition.
“I am so proud of Team Chino,” said City Manager Linda Reich, who happens to have quite the cache of Corporate Challenge gold medals in golf. “Winning is great but participating in Corporate Challenge also supports camaraderie. It lets our employees work in teams with City colleagues and get to know colleagues from other agencies and local businesses.” Spectators cheered on players and added to the fun. Company pride was on display with NFI taking 3rd Place and being the unofficial “Team Spirit” winner.
The final standings are:
1st Place – City of Chino
2nd Place – City of Chino Hills
3rd Place – NFI
4th Place – Hussmann Corporation
Sportsmanship Award – Allegiance STEAM Academy
