Planned Road Closures

16th Street from Monroe Street to Serene Street
Full closure on September 9 from 8am to 4pm for utility pole replacement.


Hellman Avenue from River road to McCarthy Road
Full overnight closure beginning Thursday, September 16 at 10pm through Friday, September 17 at 4:00am for the installation of a utility pole.


Kimball Avenue from Rincon Meadows to Euclid Avenue
Full closure through December 2021 to complete road improvements including the installation of underground utilities, raised mediums and the installation of a large storm drain to help reduce flooding in the area. It will also be widened to four lanes, with two lanes in each direction.


Merrill Avenue from Bon View Avenue to Euclid Avenue
Lane closure on westbound direction on Merrill Avenue beginning September 20 through October 22, 2021 as part of the City’s Brine Line Project (will remain open in both directions but with a flagging operation). The detour will be through Edison Avenue and Pine Avenue.


Pine Avenue from Mill Creek to Euclid Avenue
Westbound closure beginning at 7pm on September 10 through 9am on September 11 for road improvements to the intersection.


Riverside Drive from Central Avenue to Oaks Avenue
The Contractor is working on signage, striping, traffic loops, traffic signal modification work, and pedestrian accessibility improvements. There may be intermittent lane closures on Riverside Drive as needed, at least one lane in each direction traffic will be provided at all times. Expect delays through September.


Intersection of Ross and Walnut / Intersection of Magnolia and Walnut
The following closures will be in effect as part of a City Capital Improvement Project to install new curb ramps, gutters and retaining curbs:

Ross Avenue will be closed south of Walnut Avenue from 6:00am-3:30pm beginning September 2 through September 13.

Magnolia Avenue will be closed south of Walnut Avenue from 6:00am-3:30pm beginning September 9 through September 20.


SBCTA Central Avenue Interchange Project

Street sign of Central AvenueIn an effort to improve traffic flow along Central Avenue and SR 60 access for the local community, the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) and the City of Chino, in cooperation with the Caltrans District 8, will widen the Central Avenue interchange at the SR 60 bridge to accommodate three through-lanes and double left-turn lanes in both the northbound and southbound directions and will widen the existing eastbound and westbound on-ramps to SR 60 from one lane to two through lanes and a carpool lane.

Construction is dynamic and the schedule is subject to change.


Closures through Mid-September

The two outside lanes of NB Central Avenue will be closed at the SR 60 bridge weekdays from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. One lane will remain open at all times.

The two inside lanes of the WB and EB SR 60 are closed at Central Avenue between the on- and off-ramps weekdays from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

The right-turn only lane on the SR 60/Central Avenue WB off-ramp will be closed September 2 through September 17. Motorists turning right will need to use the center lane.

60 Swarm

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) continues work on the Bridge Replacement Project on State Route 60 (SR-60), part of the 60 Swarm to replace Pipeline Avenue, Monte Vista Avenue and Benson Avenue bridge structures.

Southern California Edison will be installing conduit on the Pipeline Avenue bridge on the following dates. Weather permitting.

September 7-September 10, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Westbound and Eastbound SR-60 alternating lane closures from S. Reservoir Street to Ramona Avenue.

September 13-September 17, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Westbound and Eastbound SR-60 alternating lane closures from Central Avenue to Ramona Avenue.
