The City of Chino is actively monitoring the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).  The City is receiving daily reports on this subject from the State and County Health Department.

On March 10, San Bernardino County declared a local health emergency to ensure that it will have the authority to take measures necessary to protect and preserve public health and safety, including seeking aid from state and federal authorities as necessary. 

We encourage residents to follow all recommendations from the CDC as well as local advisories from the California Department of Public Health and the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health. Please visit the links below for resources and real-time information.

COVID-19 Testing

Walk-In COVID-19 Testing at Neighborhood Activity Center
In partnership with San Bernardino County Department of Public Health (DPH) and OptumServe, the City of Chino will host a walk-up State sponsored COVID-19 testing site at the Neighborhood Activity Center.  Testing is free for all individuals, including those who are uninsured, underinsured, undocumented, or homeless.
Times:  Monday – Friday from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm 
Appointments:  Can be made on the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health’s website:

Chino Valley Unified School District Updates

The Chino Valley Unified School District directed the closure of the district’s 35 schools,  beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 to the end of the school year.

Senior Resources

The Senior Center is closed to the public but staff are available to answer phone calls at 909-334-3271, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

Frozen Meals by The Family Service Association:
The Family Service Association is offering five (5) frozen meals for delivery to seniors. Seniors must be 60 years or older. Space is limited, to register, please call the Senior Center at 909-334-3271. 

Wellness Checks:

Will be done via phone calls to our participants to check in, assess needs and provide resources.

Case Management
Consultations will be conducted via phone and by appointment. We will continue to assist with Utility and Rental assistance

Transportation will be available for Doctors visits and Prescription Drop Off/Pick up ONLY. Appointments and reservation can be made at 909-334-3271.

Serving Our Seniors Program
The Chino Valley Fire District, in partnership with the Chino Valley Fire Foundation, established the Serving our Seniors (S-O-S) program to enable individuals at high risk of contracting COVID-19 to self-isolate. Read the full Press Release here.

If you are a senior or a person classified as high risk living in the Chino Valley and are unable to leave your home for food, medication, or other essential services, we are here for you.
